The Monton Poet (Awaiting Photo)

He’s a poet and he knows it!  He’s looking forward to performing his Monton rhymes at the festival. We’ve insisted on a photo!

Time: 1:55pm

Location: Monton Rd, outside Bennetts

For years, and years I've composed rhymes,

But this is something new.

Coz Lisa challenged to say,

"Write a poem that's about you!"

"But why?" was my puzzled and prompt reply,

"Who'd want to read about me?"

"Montonians will just love it!"

"They'll love it, you will see!"

So what can I say about me?

Well, I sure love where I reside,

I've been here for seventy years,

I'm a Montonian with pride!

Lisa also said "Send me pic!"

"So I can give you a plug!"

But a pic of me would scare you,

Coz of my ugly mug!

So what more can I now say?

Well, come to join us on the first.

The Monton Festival will be the tops!

Just the opposite of worst!
